Hardwood Propagation Hands-on Workshop

Hardwood Propagation Hands-on Workshop

Join our arborist Pascal at Conservation Garden Park to learn how to turn a simple cutting into a thriving plant, in this free hands-on hardwood propagation lab! This workshop will help you learn the secrets of starting new plants from hardwood cuttings. Come prepared to get your hands dirty and experience hardwood propagation from beginning to end.

In this class you'll learn how to take cuttings (hardwood vs. softwood), how to use IBA-talc, about cutting polarity, when to know a cutting is rooted, and when to plant outside!

At the end of this class you'll also be able to take home 2-3 cuttings of either a Fremont Cottonwood or Snowberry bush.

This class will meet on March 5th @ 5:30pm, in the Education Center at Conservation Garden Park

Address is 8275 South 1300 West, West Jordan, UT 84088.

Everyone can help

TreeUtah is dedicated to making our events accessible to everyone. Planting trees might sound intimidating, but it’s a task anyone can help with! Our events are open to everyone across the spectrums of age, experience, and abilities. Whether you show up to lend your hands to dig holes, your eyes to ensure trees are upright, or your voice to keep us encouraged, you are welcome to plant trees with TreeUtah. If you want to plant trees with us, we will work with you to accommodate your needs and we will be happy to have you join us!
