Tree Planting at the Nature Center at Pia Okwai

Two volunteers dig a hole in preparation to plant a small evergreen

Join us at the Nature Center at Pia Okwai (1125 W 3300 S, South Salt Lake, UT 84119) on Saturday, May 25th at 11:00am to plant trees!

This planting event will be followed by a tree planting dance by Samba Fogo at 2:00pm, so stick around for an inspiring performance!

When you arrive at the planting site, look for our big green tent to check in. Once everyone has arrived, we will begin with a brief planting demonstration and safety talk. Then, we'll split into small groups and get planting!

We'll bring the trees, tools, soil amendments, and expertise to guide you through the planting process. We ask that you wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, sun protection, and enough layers to plant comfortably in the day's weather. We also recommend bringing a reusable water bottle to fill at our water station.

So we know to expect you, please fill out our volunteer waiver at the link below:

We're super excited to be planting in partnership with the Tracy Aviary at their Nature Center at Pia Okwai. To learn more about their hands-on learning experiences, check out their website below: https://tracyaviary.org/jordan-river/

This tree planting event was made possible in part by you through Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts, and Parks. Thank you!
