Afternoon Planting at the Salt Lake City Cemetery

Please join TreeUtah, Salt Lake City Public Lands, and Friends of the Salt Lake City Cemetery to plant 50 trees on Friday, May 5! We will have two shifts. One at 9am (until about noon) and another at 1PM (until about 4pm).

Meet us at the Salt Lake Cemetery Sexton's House (on N St at 4th Ave) at the scheduled start time. When you arrive, look for the green TreeUtah tent and check in. Once everyone has arrived, we'll do a planting demonstration and safety talk, and get planting! We will bring all the tools, trees, soil amendments, safety equipment, light snacks, coffee/tea/drinks and trained staff to guide you.

We ask that you wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, sun protection, and clothing you don't mind getting dirty. Please bring your own refillable water bottle.

We will have a pizza lunch for volunteers from both shifts from noon to one if you would like to join us!

Please sign our waiver so we know to expect you:

Everyone can help

TreeUtah is dedicated to making our events accessible to everyone. Planting trees might sound intimidating, but it’s a task anyone can help with! Our events are open to everyone across the spectrums of age, experience, and abilities. Whether you show up to lend your hands to dig holes, your eyes to ensure trees are upright, or your voice to keep us encouraged, you are welcome to plant trees with TreeUtah. If you want to plant trees with us, we will work with you to accommodate your needs and we will be happy to have you join us!
