TreeUtah is hiring a Volunteer Coordinator to manage volunteer recruitment and retention as well as help with membership activities. The main goal of the Volunteer Coordinator is to promote TreeUtah’s substantial volunteer program and coordinate volunteers for planting events. The Volunteer Coordinator also assists the Executive Director with membership and fundraising as well as general administrative projects such as managing the website, scheduling events, creating brochures and other handouts and more.

We’re excited to have kicked off the 2012 spring planting season! On March 9th, we planted 300 willows and cottonwood poles at the River Bend restoration site in Riverton. This past week, we planted with the American Bar Association at the Redwood Nature Area. What a great way to start spring! We have moved to the Artspace Commons on 824 South 400 West, stop by this Friday March 16th at 6PM to see the space, meet our fantastic neighbors and enjoy some art!

Attendees should plan to bringing their own snowshoes, and dressing more warmly than if they would just be solidly snowshoeing, as we’ll stop and chat along the way.  The hike will be on relatively gentle, flat terrain. All ages and abilities welcome.

Whoo’s In Our City!

Come and learn about why our urban forest is so important and what feathered creatures you can find living there. The afternoon will be filled with hands-on tree activities and owl crafts. You can also find out more about how you can help plant trees with TreeUtah this coming spring! This is a family-friendly event and all ages are welcome. The program is included with the cost of admission to Tracy Aviary.
